We are pleased to announce a partnership with Follett’s Aspen Student Information System.
MyFlexLearning’s flexible scheduling tool is available to be integrated with Follett’s Aspen Student Information System. This allows data to be securely shared on a daily basis and gives Aspen users the unique capability to view flex schedules right in Aspen. The systems, when used together, allow schools to have their Aspen powered master schedule and MyFlexLearning’s flexible scheduler.
There are close to twenty schools going live with MyFlexLearning for the start of 2021-22 school year, with several more poised for a mid-year implementation. These schools have already benefited from the tight Aspen and MyFlexLearning integration.
MyFlexLearning was founded by Aspen alums who have a deep understanding of scheduling. After years of consulting with districts, they recognized a need in the market for a scheduler that was nimble and able to move kids in and out of offerings on a daily basis.
The team built a flexible scheduler that allows schools to have personalized daily offerings for students. Schools are recognizing the need to offer advisories, intervention and enrichment and they need a way to manage that time.
Schools create a time in their Aspen bell schedule for flex block, then create the offerings and daily schedule within MyFlexLearning. Data is shared securely from Aspen to MyFlexLearning on a daily basis. Types of data include minimal Student and Staff, Daily Attendance, Schedule and Grades. MyFlexLearning sends flex block data back to Aspen for visibility by school staff and optionally in the Family Portal.
One key advantage for Aspen customers who use MyFlexLearning is the use of Aspen’s custom navigation to show the flex schedule. As part of the implementation, MyFlexLearning will help your school to create a side tab for the students’ flex schedule. This allows school staff and portal users to view how students are spending their flex time.
Front office staff enjoy using the custom alert to quickly locate a student during their flex block without having to leave Aspen.
The schools who use both Aspen and MyFlexLearning have found the implementation to be easy and the data syncing to be seamless. It gives you a set time during the school day to address learning loss and to expand learning for those who are ready.
